Getting the list in

The fastest way to fill this wheel is not to type. Select the column in your spreadsheet, copy it, and paste it into the box — one name per line becomes one sector per name. Blank lines are ignored, so a copied range with gaps in it works without cleaning up first.

If some names should come up more often than others, put a weight after a double colon: Priya :: 3 makes Priya three times as likely as an unweighted name. The double colon is deliberate — single colons and commas turn up inside real names, and a separator that eats part of somebody's name is worse than no separator at all.

Two people with the same name

Paste a class list and you will eventually have two people called Alex. Some tools quietly merge them, which halves one Alex's chance without saying so.

This one does not. Two lines with the same text are two entries with two separate chances, exactly as if their names were different. The list tells you when it spots repeats, so you know it noticed, and there is a merge action if combining them is genuinely what you meant — turning two entries into one with double the weight. Nothing merges unless you ask.

Calling through a whole list

The default behaviour puts everyone back after each spin, which is right for repeated draws from the same pool but wrong for working through a group.

Turn on the remove-the-winner mode and each name comes off the wheel once it has been drawn. The count beside it tells you how many are left, which matters more than it sounds when you are standing in front of people and need to know whether you are three names from the end or eleven. When you are done, one action puts everyone back — the roster is never edited, only the pool it draws from, so nobody has to re-paste a list they already pasted.

Long lists

The wheel draws at most thirty sectors. Past that, the remaining entries share the final sector, which is labelled with how many are behind it.

They are not excluded, and this is the part worth being precise about: the draw runs over the whole list, not over the visible sectors. An entry inside the folded group has exactly the chance its weight gives it, and if it wins, it is named. The fold is a drawing decision about how much text fits on a circle before it stops being readable — it is not a limit on who can win.

Keeping the list

Whatever you last had here comes back when you return, because it is saved in this browser. Not in an account, and not on a server: clear your site data and it is gone. That is the honest description, and it is why the panel says so rather than letting you find out in September.
